ABOUT THE POTS
Each piece of Pine Springs Pottery starts as a lump of clay. I hand throw every one individually on the potter’s wheel to make the desired shape. After being cut free from the wheel, the handles or other parts are attached. Then each piece must be left to air dry completely. Following a Bisque firing, the pots are all dipped in a soft gray base glaze. I hand paint each piece with one of my signature patterns, using a variety of colored stains, brushes and sponges. The pots are then fired to 2300 degrees F. in a natural gas kiln that I built myself. After the kiln has slowly cooled, each piece is sanded on the bottom for a smooth finish.

Please use and enjoy your Pine Springs Pottery. Stoneware is fired to a very high temperature, making it durable, food-safe and stable, even for baking. My pottery is:
· lead-free
· microwave safe
· dishwasher safe
· oven proof
· It may also be refrigerated if brought to room temperature prior to heating. I advise placing in a cold oven and heating slowly.
· Do not use stoneware on a direct heat source such as a stove top burner.
